Fuzzy Notions

Musings on life and motherhood

So last night my husband and I were sitting watching TV when I casually mentioned to him that I started a blog.  He was rather indifferent to the idea and his only reply was “Are you going to blog about politics?” (At this point I should probably mention we were watching The Daily Show with John Stewart.)  That got me thinking, “Will I blog about politics?” and after about, oh, 10 seconds of thought I replied “Probably not, I don’t think I will blog about politics or religion, at least not yet.”

Of course this was very uncool to him, apparently the only interesting thing to blog about IS politics.  But whatever, I’m not completely ruling it out, but just putting it on hold.  Mostly because to write intelligently about politics would require extensive research, which I will inevitably be doing prior to the elections but I’m just not in the mood to do right now.  That’s not to say that there couldn’t be some event that would propel me to write about either religion or politics before then but right now, I’m just not feeling it.

I guess I could provide a brief summation of my political leanings and I’ll keep it short.  I’m liberal on most issues but not all and as stated above I watch The Daily show with John Stewart and The Colbert Report.  So that should tell you a little something.

It’s easier to write about stuff if you have a passion for it. I personally don’t have a passion for politics so I probably won’t ever write about it.

Actually that doesn’t tell me a thing since I don’t know anything about either show. :)

It’s interesting the husbands’ reactions to people’s blogs. Are you gonna let him read it? Mine hasn’t read mine so far as I know, thank goodness.

Anyway I don’t really blog about things I have to research, either. It’s a hobby, not a job!

While I do have an interest in politics, it just seems like such a divisive issue. I would much rather discuss things that come more easily to me. Maybe I’m just lazy…

Kris didn’t seem too interested in reading my blog. I certainly didn’t give him the address…if that tells you anything! I told him that if he wanted to read it he had to find it on his own.

I’m loving your blog already. Stick to things that really interest you or stir deep feelings in you and it’ll all work out. If you sound interested in what you write about then most readers will be interested in it too. The first few posts are the most difficult but it does get a lot easier once you’ve found your feet :)

Thank you so much! I’ll take all the advice I can get. My interests have really changed since becoming a mother. I would have never thought I would be as passionate about breastfeeding as I am now. My, how things change.
